Make a Yoga Pants Waistband for Ready-to-Wear Jeans

I had the opportunity to go help my daughter in her 3rd grade classroom to Tye Dye T-Shirts! I couldn't say NO to that... But I also didn't want to cancel Fab Fit Friday! So, here you go, a pre-recorded episode that hits two birds with one stone! I have had a few requests for a tutorial showing how to make a Yoga Pants Style Waistband for Ready-to-Wear Jeans & I had to take in the waistline of my Mom's LL Bean Jeans. This technique can be used on any pair of ready-to-wear jeans that you can pull on over your hips with them zipped up! Because my Mom's jeans were really big on her, I decided to cut off the original waistband and add some front/back waist darts to reduce the ease along the waistline a little bit (verse taking in the side seams). Then I added a Ponte Knit Stretch Waistband with elastic inserted in side. Fixing my Mom's jeans was a simple waistband switch, so I also shared how to take off a waistband and remove the right fly and zipper to create a faux front fly!
