Petri Dish VFX — Full Visual Effects Tutorial for Maya, V-Ray, After Effects, and Mocha [Deprecated]

This is the full-length version of the Petri Dish VFX series using Maya, V-Ray, After Effects, and Mocha AE. In Part 1, we practice more tracking in Mocha AE. In Part 2, we set up the Maya scene with PaintFX, do surfacing/texturing, create render layers, and start rendering with V-Ray. In Part 3, we start compositing the EXR sequences rendered in Maya and V-Ray. We apply the track data from Mocha, set up depth of field using a Z Depth pass, and create a petri dish base texture. In Part 4, we composite Shot B and finish up with Shot A with Maya V-Ray EXR files, After Effects, and Mocha. *This series uses a deprecated sRGB workflow and non-PBR materials. The preferred color management workflow is to use ACEScg, which has been the default since Maya 2022. Please refer to the Razor Crest series for the ACEScg color management and PBR workflows.
