It was a jocular mimicry of the Bhopa and Bhopi, the couple who traditionally sing stories of famous kings and folk deities in Rajasthan through the medium of the ‘phad’ – a narrative picture scoll. Babu Khan ji also sings songs of many other bhakti and sufi poets such as Meera, Brahmanand, Gorakhnath, Surdas and Bulleshah.
