Okay folks, if YOU are like me and have invested your time, money, and effort to purchase an M1A / M14 . Nows the time to invest a little more to keep it in tip-top shape. The great thing about surplus or government type firearms is the government required the manufacturer to design and manufacture tools for the end-user. These tools are as simple and rugged as possible. Often called "Soldier Proof". The M-14 was no different. The M-14's cleaning kit was designed to completely fit into the butt of the standard stock. It included a Combination tool. Think of it as a Multi-tool. It has a 3/8" box-end wrench, flathead screwdriver, a hollow handle to store the ratcheting chamber brush, and is the "T" handle for the 6 piece cleaning rod. All this and an Oil+Grease bottle The stock was designed so the entire kit could be securely stored in the butt. Behind a metal butt plate. Access is through a small hatch that has a spring-loaded latch the prevents the loss of any of the contents. Other tools include the three Sadlak Industries Gas system drill bits to remove carbon build up inside the Gas Plug and Piston. The Sadlak gas System Wrench helps you hold the rifle in order to crack open the gas plug. As well as capture the piston to safely clean it. Snap Caps are inert cartridge simulators used to safety check and function check the rifle.
