"Mother" is track 7 from Porter's second album, "Nurture." The track imagines a conversation from the perspective of a mother to her child to deal with the child growing up and their relationship changing. It fits in with the themes of the album in a beautiful way. Growing, changing, finding purpose in life and not being afraid to live a meaningful life. I love this song... I love this album... I only wish I could have given a better performance. There are certain things I wanted to do but I was limited by the key that this song was in... So, it was a challenging one. I'm never 100% satisfied with my recordings but this one I was particularly upset with. I was focusing on my mistakes and what I did poorly. But ultimately, it's an attempt. I can always revisit it in the future. For now, it is what it is. And I'll share it and hope someone out there enjoys it, even if I know it's not my best.
