On our French Adventure, our first night stay was in Paris, at a hotel next to Gare de L’Est. This was planned more for the convenience of accessing Gare du Norde, as we had a hire car to pick up from Gare du Norde. The result of this arrangement was the discovery of a 4 ⭐️ hotel that was comfortable, convenient and charming. The hotel likes to describe itself as ‘Calm’ - COMME A LA MAISON (Feel at home). This hotel is Okko hotel,Paris and is located by the side of platform 2, Gare de L’Est. It was so quiet that you would not know it was next to a train station. The hotel provides a delicious breakfast, which was included in our room rate, as well as complimentary hot and cold drinks all day. The hotel is accessed down a short road on the left hand side of Gare de L’Est, where there is a security gate. Press the button to gain access. To take a short cut access to Garde du Nord, there is a lift outside the hotel (the hotel reception will give you an access code). This will take you to the upper street, it is then a short walk to Gare du Nord. Note: This area of Paris is a bit intimidating as there are a lot of vagrants hanging around the train station, but we were never put in an unsafe situation. We hope you enjoy this video.
