My Favorite Way to VARNISH Paintings | Airbrush and Acrylics Tutorial

This video is all about my favorite way to varnish my paintings. I use an Iwata W400 LVLP spray gun with liquitex permanent varnish which is 100% acrylic. A permanent varnish acts as an isolation layer or clear coat over the painting to protect it from dust, uv light, and humidity. This should only be used over acrylic paintings and never over oil paint. If you'd like to add a traditional (removable) varnish, you can add this over the top of the permanent varnish a few days to a week later. Traditional varnishes are solvent based and work well over fully cured acrylic and oil paintings. Always allow acrylics to dry for a minimum of 1 week and allow oils to dry 6-12 months before applying any type of varnish. If you use createx illustration colors or com-art, always add a permanent varnish or clear coat before applying a solvent based varnish.
