This is part one of a winter photography shoot in remote Wakkanai, Japan's most northerly city, on island of Hokkaido. The trip was inspired by the Hokkaido minimalist photography of Michael Kenna. Wakkanai was one of the locations of Kenna's Hokkaido photos. Of course, the aim was not to copy Kenna's work. It is to come up with fresh images in this extraordinary location. For all the ground photography I used a Fujifilm X-T4 camera body with a Fujifilm XF.16-55mm f/2.8 and a Fujifilm XF. 50-140 f/2.8 lens. For the aerial video and photography I use a DJI Mavic Air 2.
