In this video, I’m talking about whether you should get surgery for a deviated septum if you're having trouble breathing. Normally, I make business and HR content, but today I’m sharing my personal experience with this surgery. A deviated septum occurs when the nasal passages are blocked, usually due to injury or illness. This can cause major breathing issues, especially at night, and may even lead to heart problems if left untreated. The surgery to fix it, called septoplasty, clears out the blockage so air can flow freely. If you’ve also had repeated respiratory infections, tonsils and adenoids may need to be removed. My breathing problems started after a severe bout of Covid in 2020. I was only getting about 5-10% air through one nostril, and it was affecting my sleep and health. I kept putting off treatment, but after getting sick several times in a row, I saw a specialist who confirmed my septum was badly deviated, and my tonsils were inflamed. I ended up having both the septoplasty and tonsil removal surgeries. The recovery process was tough. I wasn’t fully prepared for the amount of pain, especially with complications like a burn on my tongue from the surgery. I was off work for three weeks instead of the one I had planned for. The first few days were rough, with bleeding, soreness, and having to sleep upright. I relied on soft foods like popsicles and soup for almost a week. Even though the recovery was difficult, the surgery was completely worth it. I can now breathe through both nostrils, and my snoring has stopped. If you’re struggling to breathe and it’s affecting your health, I highly recommend the surgery. Just be sure to prepare for a major recovery period. #septoplasty #deviatedseptum #breathingproblems #septumsurgery #rhinoplasty #tonsilremoval #ENT #nasalhealth #covidrecovery #sleepproblems #breathingtips #snoringfix #sleepapnea #majorrecovery #surgerytips #healthjourney #breathebetter #surgeryrecovery #nosejob #medicaljourney #toughrecovery #healthtransformation #sleeptips #majorhealthfix #nasalsurgery #longrecovery #airwayfix
