Thomas Dauge – 2019 "Daniel Friederich" Thomas Dauge is a French guitar maker located in Bordeaux. He follows the French tradition of lutherie and shows a very strong talent in the creation and the construction of the rosette and other marquetry details. Thomas Dauge puts great emphasis on every detail of the instrument: the wood selection, the quality of the French polish, the cleanness of the joints, and , most importantly, the sound qualities of his guitars. He achieves to build very balanced instruments with a complex timbre and a great ease of playing. This guitar numbered 138 is an instrument built after Daniel Friederich’s famous guitars. Every detail matches: the quality of the wood and the inlaid decoration as well as the perfection of the varnish and, of course, the sound. The elements of Daniel Friederich’s guitars are unmistakably recognizable in this tribute to the great Parisian master. First quality Rodgers tuning machines ensure a perfect tuning. It is a great pleasure to hear and see how close this guitar comes to Daniel Friederich’s own instruments. Both sound and touch fulfil the highest expectations. The neck is relatively thin, which ensures excellent playability. Huge projection and an even, balanced sound combine with an incredible sustain. Moreover, it has a clear and warm tone, with striking elegance. Congratulations to Thomas Dauge for creating such an amazing Daniel Friederich model.
