Sorry! Just like their debut US show in DC, I once again had a bumpy beginning. I started filming as soon as "Prelude To Ecstasy" came on. I wanted to begin & end the show with a shot of the cherub flying above us as it seemed like another sign from the universe. Somehow, after just 2 seconds, while attempting to zoom in on the cherub, I must have hit the stop button and I didn't realize that until the band started playing "Burn Alive". I missed the first 2-3 notes and recovered in time to start filming again before the vocals started. Yes, you are correct. I am an eejit. But. Just like DC, my focus was on experiencing the show, so please forgive me for screwing up the intro. My energy level of nervous excitement about seeing the band again just a few days after seeing their debut US show was somehow even higher this second time around! Maybe because I knew that they were about to kick the crap out of me and another audience. Imagine, if you had to fight Mike Tyson a second time; you think you're ready, you think you're prepared, but deep down inside, you know you're getting 'knocked the f**k out!" after he hits you with that first punch! Plus, during Mother Mary's opening set, I saw TLDP come out onto the balcony* and start walking towards us. I was fairly certain they settled down directly behind where we were standing. And then, when I heard a quiet, small fragment of chit chat in a British accent, I started freaking out a little. It took every ounce of energy I could muster, to dig deep down inside myself, to find what little decency I may have left, to stop myself from turning around to "welcome them" and "thank them for coming" to the US; to thank them again, for how much joy they've brought me. Essentially, as you're already realizing, to not be a selfish and most likely, babbling fool. I didn't want to risk creating a disrespectful distraction to Mother Mary's performance and I didn't want to also disrespectfully interrupt TLDP from experiencing the show. I'm sure the days of them walking around undisturbed are quickly disappearing. Anyways. I filmed in 4K this time. We were able to get a similar spot here as in DC; balcony level, above and to the right of the mix board, slightly left of stage and below the flying cherub. (*Similar scenario played out when we saw them in DC. There too, I decided not to disturb the band.)
