Far Cry is from Snakes & Arrows, the 18th studio album by RUSH released in 2007. Neil wrote the lyrics in reference to his generation's concern for Peace & Love but they were a Far Cry from living it. This song was the 1st single released from the Album and it set the tone for Snakes and Arrows. This one took me 13 hours of Seat Time to learn almost note for note. I could've done better and I probably should've tighten things up a bit but there was only one NEP...The ending drum solo consumed most of my time and I hope you see why. It was interesting to hear how Neil did not hit the Kick with the Cymbal crash in that ending solo. That kinda threw me for a while. Well, I only have 1 more RUSH cover to complete my goal of learning 1 song from each of their 19 studio albums. I'll be a month late but like they say, better late than never....THANK YOU ALL for the support over this entire journey. My story: Married at 22 years old, 3 kids soon after. Watched the ship sail at a young age, no regrets there, just life choices that we all have to make and hopefully family takes priority. My wife and I are empty nesters now so I feel like it's my time again, you know.
