If you’re not scared of heights you can visit the high-level walkways between the two towers Tower Bridge is used by more than 40,000 people each day the bridge is raised hundreds of times each year to let ships underneath There’s a timetable for the bridge being raised on their website if you want to time your visit 02:11 - HMS Belfast On the right is HMS Belfast. Built just before WWII it’s now a museum ship you can visit. The Royal Navy ship has a long history which you can see in the exhibits, serving in WWII and the Korean War There’s a lot inside - you can visit all nine decks with lots of history and displays 03:09 - Hays Galleria This is Hay’s Galleria - a mix of shops, restaurants, offices and residential apartments. It was originally a warehouse and part of Hay's Wharf of the Port of London. The sculpture is 60 ft moving bronze sculpture of a ship, called 'The Navigators', and commemorates the Galleria's shipping heritage 04:28 - Borough Market This is Borough Market - one of the oldest in London dating back to 1014. It’s a great place for speciality food and also fresh fruit and vegetables. Open every day except Sunday - and gets very busy on Saturdays! 06:02 - Golden Hind On the right, you can see a reconstruction of the ship ‘The Golden Hind’. Best known for circumnavigating the globe between 1577 and 1580 led by Sir Francis Drake 07:25 - Globe Theatre Shakespeare's Globe is a reconstruction of the Globe Theatre for which William Shakespeare wrote his plays. The original theatre was built in 1599 but was destroyed by fire in 1613. Plays are staged during the summer. Check out their website for the schedule. 07:57 - Millenium Bridge We're now coming onto the London Millennium Footbridge. It's nicknamed the "Wobbly Bridge" as it had an alarming swaying motion when it opened in June 2000 09:36 - St Pauls Cathedral You can see St Paul's Cathedral up ahead. The first church on this site was founded in AD 604. The current cathedral was built by architect Sir Christopher Wren between 1675 and 1710. St Paul's Cathedral is the fourth church to sit on this site. It has one of the largest domes in the world and if you're feeling adventurous you can climb the 530 steps to the top and look out over London Also, check out the whispering gallery where you can hear someone whispering from the other side over 100 feet away 10:41 - Southbank Centre This is the Southbank Centre Book Market open every day until 7pm. On the left is the British Film Institute (BFI). Next up is the Southbank Centre. It has three main performance venues and a gallery which makes up Europe’s largest centre for the arts. The Southbank Centre started with the Festival of Britain held in 1951. 14:03 - London Eye Coming up on the right is The London Eye. It is Europe's tallest cantilevered observation wheel and has around 3 million visitors a year. It was opened on 31 December 1999 and now forms a centrepiece of the New Year's Eve fireworks celebrations. 15:04 - Houses of Parliament The Palace of Westminster contains the House of Commons and the House of Lords forming the Parliament of the UK It used to be the primary residence of the Kings of England but after a fire destroyed much of the complex in 1512 it became the parliament of England Originally known as the Clock Tower (now the Elizabeth Tower from 2012) it houses Big Ben.
