This song is also a long overdue tribute to two of my former bandmates, who also died tragically young due to overdose and suicide. ONLY DUST REMAINS is the process of grief over time. How everything crashes down for those left behind - but as the days begin to tick past, the world keeps going as if they were never even there. How memories may fade with the passage of time, but the pain of their loss that will never go away. I was gifted a small container of my friend’s ashes and I keep them next to her picture.
