Cal Newport's Advice For Becoming a Disciplined Person | Deep Questions Podcast

Download my FREE Deep Life Guide HERE: https://bit.ly/3QBIcug Cal Newport answers a question about having the discipline to stick to long term plans. Cal explains that discipline is an identity you have to develop. Once you believe yourself to be a disciplined person you can then apply discipline to many new areas. To get to that identity in the first place, you have to integrate some baseline disciplines. Keystone habits in your deep life buckets are good. They are tractable but not trivial. Next: do the bucket by bucket overall. Cal suggests to spend 4 to 8 weeks on each. This will introduce new disciplines in your life, but in a way that’s slow and grounded. Remember, you should always test and tweak. After all of that you can then start adding more discipline pursuits into your life in a more ad hoc way.
