Brief excerpt from my performance event at 3LD NYC's .ZIP installation. CAO YUXI (https://caoyuxi.com) built this space in 3LD's black box and mapped it with custom software for 6 enormous high-powered projectors that were flown in from China. The installation showed loops from Chinese A/V artists throughout the week, and ended up going viral - probably due largely to the massive amount of young people coming in to take Instagram selfies inside the projections; sign of the times. I was invited to the first of a handful of special performance nights -- all of which were sold out. I could be mistaken, but I think I mine was the only performance using analog video and sound. A few brave audience members took us up on the option to wear hospital booties and sit inside the installation during the performance, as can be seen in this footage.
