This is the Palace of Culture and Science segment of DIY Layover - Warsaw, including brief introduction and history of this Soviet era building. the 2nd tallest building in Warsaw and six tallest in the European Union, with a total height of 237 metres. The building houses tallest clock tower in the world until the installation of a giant clock on the NTT Docomo Yoyogi Building in Tokyo, Japan. The construction started in 1952 and lasted until 1955. This is an gift from the Soviet Union to the people of Poland, the tower was constructed, using Soviet plans, by 3,500 to 5,000 Soviet workers and 4,000 Polish workers.
