Come take a tour around the treadle hammer I built and save yourself some trouble avoiding the mistakes I made. Despite a few things I'd change, it still works great and I use it all the time. It is my third hand in the shop - and it cost practically nothing to boot (built out of scraps)! Here is in an incomplete list of what I used to build this hammer.
