India's first Female DM in Medical Genetics, Dr. Shubha Phadke throws light on how genetic studies, research, and fact findings may help humankind prevent and cure certain medical conditions and diseases and improve healthcare. She also throws light on pre and post birth gene analysis and how it can improve quality of life. Dr. Shubha Phadke is a renowned clinical and laboratory geneticist with 30 years of experience. She established India's first 'DM in Medical Genetics' program in 1996 and has trained over 40 medical geneticists. Dr. Phadke’s interests lie in pre and postnatal dysmorphology, and she has identified the causative gene for three out of ten newly delineated syndromes. She has authored the book "Genetics for Clinicians", published 262 papers, and founded the Society for Indian Academy of Medical Genetics.
