I purchased the Ruger Max 9 as an impulse buy from Academy. It was a good price and I like Ruger guns. Ruger did an amazing job designing this pistol. The optic cut slide with the Ruger eagle engraved in the optic plate is a nice touch. The rear sights are big. The front sights are fiber optic green. They are easy to see and easy to use. The green fiber front sights make the front sight easy and fast to find.. The trigger is smooth with a crisp break. I installed the Holosun K series mini optic on this pistol. The optic fit perfect. Very easy to install. Ruger did and excellent job in design and preparation for the optic install. The factory sights are still visible through the optic, another great feature planned out by Ruger. I like the Holosun optic best because the 32 inch MOS circle is easy and fast for the shooter to find. I use the 2 inch MOA dot in the center of the of the 32 inch circle as point of aim. Out of the box the Max 9 is a great gun. With the optic for me its a great improvement. Best part is Ruger designed the pistol for the end user. Meaning it shoots great out of the box and if you add an optic you do not have to buy mounting plates or suppressor hight sights for the pistol. Great job Ruger on your pistol design.
