Hybrid Or EV???Ford F-150 Lightning Vs F-150 Hybrid

Hybrid Or EV???Ford F-150 Lightning Vs F-150 Hybrid Few options were available in the market for an electric pickup truck. Recent years, however, have seen an influx of new trucks into the segment from both small and large manufacturers, like the Rivian R1T, the GMC Hummer EV, and most recently, Ford with the introduction of the 2022 F-150 Lightning. Let's get you rolling hence Put your foot on the brake since you're a TECH ADDICTS, talking about the two models as Ford is “Built for the road ahead”. The Lightning is the most traditional all-electric pickup yet, with an outward and interior appearance identical to the standard F-150. However, it has its innovations, such as a huge power-opening front trunk, a higher-output version of Ford's Pro Power Onboard generator, and the potential to power your house during an outage when utilizing the optional 80-amp Ford Charge Station Pro in conjunction with a properly designed home. Regardless of its unique characteristics, we know that an electric vehicle must still do the same tasks as a gas-powered truck, notably towing and transporting. So, to put the Lightning through its paces, we evaluated acceleration with and without a weight of 1,220 pounds in its bed. In addition, we towed a 5,900-pound Airstream travel trailer to test how well it towed and how a huge trailer affected the overall driving range. Our long-term 2021 F-150 hybrid, Ford's most electrified F-150 before the debut of the Lightning, joined the test to serve as a reference point in the numerous testing. Both vehicles have comparable as-tested costs when new: roughly $78,000 for the 2021 F-150 Limited hybrid and around $80,000 for the 2022 F-150 Lightning Lariat. Today, a 2022 Limited hybrid like the one in this test costs approximately $85,000. Lightning prices have also risen: the vehicle we examined costs approximately $89,000 in 2023. Ford F-150 Lightning tows effectively? We drove the Lightning and F-150 hybrid with and without a trailer. From the driver's seat, the Lightning is a great tow vehicle. The truck's 775 lb-ft of torque outscored the F-150 hybrid while starting from a standstill. Despite the Lightning's quiet and smooth towing, it can't go that far. The Lightning's extended-range battery pack was 97% charged and the truck showed 317 miles of range. With the Airstream attached and the truck in towing mode, the expected range was cut in half. Towing using a trailer profile might boost Lightning's range accuracy. The rapid reduction in anticipated range was unsettling, but we quickly learned that the new range estimate was one we could trust; towards the conclusion of our drive route, the truck's predicted range reading had dropped by 131 miles, and we'd driven 136 miles, so it was only around 4% wrong. The average efficiency of the Lightning while towing was 1.3 miles per kilowatt-hour or almost half the 2.5 miles per kWh we recorded when we drove the truck on the same route the next day without a trailer in tow. The F-150 hybrid's average efficiency was likewise slashed in half when towing, from a trip-computer average of 26.6 mpg when driven on the route without a trailer to 12.6 mpg the next day when towing the Airstream. Our mainly flat drive route consisted of a combination of suburban streets with stop-and-go traffic, traffic-free country roads, and a length of interstate highway with moderate traffic on both days. Despite identical average efficiency losses in the vehicles, the hybrid, with its 30.6-gallon fuel tank, has a potential operating range when towing the Airstream that is more than double the Lightning's: The hybrid's tank size multiplied by its towing efficiency gives it a range of 386 miles, whereas the extended-range Lightning's 131-kWh battery capacity multiplied by its towing efficiency of 1.3 miles per kWh gives it a range of 170 miles. The hybrid's refilling time is similarly indicated in minutes; the Lightning's is measured in hours, as we discovered when we fast-charged it after our towing excursion. -------------------------------------- Check this out: Toyota's C-HR 2023 Shocked Everyone With It's Features 👉    • Toyota's C-HR 2023 Shocked Everyone W...   Here's Why Toyota's RAV4 2023 Will Shock Everyone 👉    • Here's Why Toyota's RAV4 2023 Will Sh...   -------------------------------------- #techaddicts #ford #ford150 #fordf150lightning ⚠️ Copyright Disclaimers • Section 107 of the U.S. Copyright Act states: "Notwithstanding the provisions of sections 106 and 106A, the fair use of a copyrighted work, including such use by reproduction in copies or phonorecords or by any other means specified by that section, for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or research, is not an infringement of copyright." • We use images and content in accordance with the YouTube Fair Use copyright guidelines
