World Cup Preview: France Is Too Good

The French are the reigning World Cup champions. They also have a secret weapon that was not on their team last time around. He won a little-known trophy called the Ballon D’or, his name is Benzema, you might have heard of him. The core of that World Cup-winning team is still intact with more wonderkids coming in than anyone can handle, why not be the first repeat since 1962? There is, of course, the World Cup curse. If you win the previous World Cup you simply cannot win again and your team will likely fall apart. Germany was the latest casualty of this at the last World Cup, getting knocked out in the group stage. World Cup 2022 I believe will be different, unless this curse can sink an assemblage of talent that seems almost overwhelming for France.
