1890s Bicycle Bloomers: FREE PATTERN MAKE & REVIEW

I take the free pattern from bikesandbloomers.com and -lacking any assembly instructions whatsoever- make my way through the process of making a pair of relatively authentic bicycle bloomers from the mid 1890s. For those of you who are interested in history bounding, or who are looking for how to get started history bounding, I highly recommend this pattern as a start because they aren't too conspicuous compared to a modern day pair of pants, except that they have HUGE POCKETS! Cue all the women out there are cumulatively screeching in joy. This pattern was based on a patent (or combination of patents, it's not clear on their website) lodged in the late 1800s, and it does strongly resemble other patterns and garments I've seen from the era, so I'd say it's fairly accurate. That being said, I did NOT make this pair with entirely historically accurate techniques... not this pair anyways. I definitely foresee another pair in my future!
