The fifth day is approximately 6 miles from Beal to Holy Island, including a loop of the island taking in the Pilgrim Way (is very slippy and boggy in places) and our St Cuthbert’s Way finishing point at the remains at Lindisfarne Abbey. We then pass Lindisfarne Castle, kilns and Emmanuel Head. It’s then a race against the tide to get back over the causeway to the mainland for my journey home. The campsite I stayed at Beal http://barnatbeal.com Tide times (if you’re doing the Pilgrims Route across the sand, give it another hour on the time given for the causeway.
