Why are NJ's legislative elections so important? | Gotta Know Jersey

While presidential and gubernatorial elections tend to draw the most voters, what happens in the state Legislature can have more of an impact on NJ residents. Many aspects of life in the Garden State are governed by the state Legislature, from access to the full range of reproductive rights to not having to pump your own gas. Yet just 27% of NJ’s registered voters made their voices heard the last time state legislators topped the ballot. This video is a part of our “Gotta Know Jersey” series explaining NJ’s election process and the importance legislative elections have on NJ residents.
