2018 Maruti Suzuki Swift: First test drive review
First test of the all new Maruti Suzuki Swift. We've driven Maruti Suzuki's new hatchback in Lonavala, India and here are our first drive impressions. Based on the HEARTECT platform, the new Swift is a big improvement over the previous one. It is 80kg lighter, sportier and offers better performance and economy (22kmpl for petrol, 27kmpl for diesel). It is also more stylish and spacious. The all-new Swift is available with the tried and tested 1.2-litre K12 VVT petrol engine and the 1.3 DDiS diesel and both have the option of a five-speed manual or an automated manual transmission that Maruti Suzuki calls Auto Gear Shift (AGS). India’s most popular hatchback will take on the likes of the Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz, Toyota Liva, Volkswagen Polo, Tata Bolt, Ford Figo, Nissan Micra and even the Baleno. Bookings are open already at Maruti Suzuki Arena dealerships where the Swift can be booked for Rs 11,000.
