The Geologic Oddity in Kentucky; The World's Longest Cave, Mammoth Cave

Under the surface of Kentucky is the world's largest cave system. Here, the Mammoth Cave and its branches stretch up to 426 miles or 686 kilometers in length in spectacularly carved caverns. These caves which are largely part of the Mammoth Cave National Park contain numerous fascinating geologic formations such as stalactites, stalagmites, flowstones, columns, and gypsum whose formation will be described in this video. Note: All video clips shown in this video display caves which are not Mammoth Cave or its surrounding cave complex, but rather display other caves which exist in other states outside of Kentucky in addition to some clips being filmed in caves in countries outside of the United States. This footage of other caves serves merely as stock footage as there were not any videos of Mammoth Cave that I was able to license from my favorite stock video subscription service.
