Cheverny in the Loire Valley: The chateau that inspired Tintin's castle

The château of Cheverny is the most homogeneous and best preserved chateau of the Loire Valley. It was built in 10 years and was never restructured. It also didn't suffer much damage during the French revolution and all the sculptures and furniture are original to the castle. The château of Cheverny also inspired cartoonist Hergé when designing the château de Moulinsart (Marlinspike Hall in English) where the adventures of Tintin take place. Another thing to see at the chateau of Cheverny is the feeding of the dogs. Cheverny is a hunting lodge and they have a pack of more than 100 hounds. The feeding of the hounds every morning is an incredible spectacle to watch.
