Cultural Day St John Higher Secondary School

St. John’s Higher Secondary School, Tuensang observed Cultural Day on 28th October at school premise in Tuensang. Rev Fr Dr Jacob Charalel, Secretary (CEDOK), Col Deval Dixit, Commandant 28 Assam Rifles, Vishal Chauhan, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Tuensang and Thungchanbemo, ADC, Tuensang were the special invitees accompanied by the school board members, tribal body leaders, student body leaders and members of School Alumni Association. The program was chaired by Omlila and Takumbuba meanwhile, the invocation prayer was pronounced by Fr Antony Samy, Principal, Newman Higher Secondary School, Tobu. The welcome address was delivered by Rev Fr Sivi George, Principal, St John’s Higher Secondary School, Tuensang and welcome song by Tangliba and friends. Vibrant and diverse display of different cultural presentations was showcased during the event. South Indian dance by Liajungla and company, Bengali dance by Thsanula and friends, Assamese dance Sometnaro and company, Bhangra dance by Bitsala and friends, Cheraw dance by Auching and friends and Nepali dance by Tiamenla and company performances were some of the highlights of the day. Folk dances of Chang, Khiamniungan, Yimkhiung, Sangtam and Ao were also displayed along with Naga traditional mouth organ presentation by Changsonla and Nasen Monyu, presentation of Chang Naga folklore by Sangmaichila nf company and folk fusion of different Naga tribes by Yentin and Joseph.
