Players take on the role of leaders of their own communities, working to survive through winter. To win, all players must make it to the end. If everyone survives, then the player who gained the most status during the course of the game is elected chief of all of the communities and gains an additional victory. Status is gained by effectively sharing resources through a gifting mechanic.
