Celebrating Prodrive's 40th Anniversery event in Banbury, United Kingdom was definitely not on schedule, but we seemed to fit it in on 22 September 2024. It may have been one of the largest turn outs in the rain for the Subaru Car Clubs including over 14+ Y1999 Subaru Impreza RB5 Classic GC8s (444 built), 16+ Y2007 Subaru Impreza RB320s (320 built), 16+ Subaru Impreza P1s (1000 built), 8 Y2003 Subaru Impreza WR1s (500 built), 24+ Subaru Impreza GB270s (300 saloons/100 estate built), 2 Y97' Subaru Impreza WRX V-Limited (1000 built), 1 Y2003 Subaru Impreza V-Limited (300 built), 1 Y97' Subaru Impreza Catalunya (200 built), 1 Y97 Subaru Impreza 555 WRC Limited Edition (1000 built) and above all 1 P25 - A recreation of the iconic Blue Subaru Impreza. All 25 examples of the £550,000+ Prodrive P25 found a buyer within days. It's 25 years since Prodrive debuted the two door Impreza World Rally Car (WRC), which inspired the Subaru Impreza 22B. Only 424 of these 22B special edition road cars were manufactured over time. Unfortunately, no 22Bs were seen at the event for a good reason due to the rain. David Richards also signed copies of the new coffee table book 'Prodrive - 40 Years of Success'. I asked Mr. Richards if he owns a P25. He replied, “I have access to one.” Phil Mills - 2003 WRC Champion co-driver with Subaru World Rally Team & Petter Solberg and Alain Menu - BTCC Champion with Team Ford Mondeo in 2000 spoke followed by an autograph session. Overall it brought a positive atmosphere bringing in thousands of visitors across England to enjoy with family and friends.
