Gibraltar & La Linea de la Concepcion | Photo Tour

Prepare to be amazed by the stunning beauty of Gibraltar and La Linea - you won't believe these hidden gems exist so close to each other! Having lived in La Linea for two stints of 9 months each (so 18 months in total), I was able to really become familiar and connect with the area, getting to know the local people, the best tapas bars, coffee shops, cafes and eateries. What I believe makes the area the perfect holiday destination is the good balance of infrastructure, coupled with the typical Spanish town charm of La Linea and its square, nightlife and social life! If you've never visited Gibraltar or La Linea before, you can literally walk from the airport to your hotel within 10 minutes - suitcases and back packs in tow - without a taxi or shuttle bus. Once you're all unpacked and settled in, you could visit Ocean Village, the main shopping areas of Gibraltar, or take either the cable car, or a guided tour by jeep to the top of the Rock! where there is a SkyWalk (A Nature Reserve ticket** is required to visit the Skywalk**. [email protected]) and the Windsor Suspension Bridge**. Europa Point is also worth a visit on the local bus, from there you can see Morocco quite easily. The distance across from Europa Point (Gibraltar's most southerly point) to Morocco is just 8 miles! You could also try visiting St Michael's Cave, The Great Siege Tunnels, Gibraltar Botanic Gardens, Mediterranean Steps, Princess Caroline's Battery, Moorish Castle, and Footpaths. If beaches are your thing, you could try Catalan Bay, Eastern Beach, or Sandy Beach. There is a bus service that runs up and down eastern side of Gibraltar. Regarding the Spanish border town of La Linea de la Concepcion, there are plenty of things to there as well , although admittedly the vibe is somewhat different and has more of a traditonal Spanish town feel. It's nice in the evenings, with plenty of eateries and tapas bars. There are some shops, and in the summer months there are chiringuitos on Levante Beach! I used to hang out in La Linea in the evenings after work, and when you live there it's a nice social vibe, the local Spanish people are friendly and chatty. It's a different culture to the UK where niobody speaks to each other, or if you do you're classed as weird!!!! Also in La Linea there is an end of Line regional bus station, with 4 or 5 air conned buses daily that go further up the line to SotoGrande, Estepona, Marbella, Fuengirola, Torremolinos, Malaga (the nearest big capital and International Airport is about 2 to 2.5 hours away from Gib depending on traffic). Also, although I guess you would have to change buses in Malaga, you could get to Nerja too ( another very popular costal resort town). I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. I made it to Marbella, Fuengirola and Malaga. In Fuengirola, which is a sizeable resort town popular with Brits, I came across a fascinating catholic church and bakery just a few yards away. If you visit try to do as much as you can and allow for a good 2 to 3 weeks. You can't see and do everything in two weeks its not possible! Anyway, I hope you enjoy the photo tour video. I didn't have the video camera during the time that I lived and worked from there, but hopefully I have inspired you to visit there someday in the future. #gibraltar #oceanvillage #casematessquare #worldtradecentergibraltar #easternbeach #catalanbay #sandybay #therock #lalinea #lalineadelaconcepcion #fuemgirola #marbella #malaga #andalucia #sotogrande #theline #gibraltarairport FOR BUSINESS ENQUIRIES www.ianjunitedk.com
