Edo. G is an icon - one of the first MC's to put Boston on the hip-hop map, he's done groundbreaking work and collaborated with hip-hop elite, while staying loyal to his hometown and never compromising his message and art. We met up with Edo during his European tour in 2018 and sat down before his show in Warsaw, Poland to discuss a range of topics - from his latest album "FreEDOm" and the documentary based on his breakthrough, classic song "I Got To Have It", through working with Masta Ace on their duo album "Arts & Entertainment", hanging out with 2Pac and being sampled by him on "2Pacalypse Now", to recording a tribute song to his friend Pete Rock. Edo also shared a funny story behind his name and its two different spellings (Edo.G and Ed O.G.), remembered coming up with GURU and Gang Starr before DJ Premier, recalled almost following GURU's footsteps and moving to NYC in early 90's, and spoke on his most impactful song he's done.
