Newfoundland Stamps - Goodwill Haul Bag 3 - Beautiful Old Postage Stamps From A Dead Country

#PostalPleasures Presents: Newfoundland Stamps - Goodwill Haul Bag 3 - Beautiful Old Postage Stamps From A Dead Country I have been dying to get into this glassine envelope to look at all these great stamps from Newfoundland. Technically Newfoundland is a dead country as it became the 10 Province of Canada in 1949 and more recently was renamed Newfoundland & Labrador. That means that all the stamps in this lot will be relatively old! The oldest in this lot being the Scott# 48 2c Red Orange Cod Fish from 1887 with a catalog value of 9.50 in my obsolete catalog. Its exciting discovering this many old stamps, so many with great designs. we even have a few color varieties! Highlights: 0:00 - Introduction 1:25 - Trail of the Caribou (Suvla Bay) 2:11 - Princess Elizabeth 1946 2:35 - Codfish Newfoundland Currency 3:58 - Coronation Issue 1937 4:39 - Victoria 1897 5:01 - Princess Elizabeth 1938 5:53 - Cod Fish 1887 6:06 - Queen Mary 6:24 - Cabot In The "Matthew" Off Cape Bonavista 1497 7:35 - Final Airmail Stamp 1943 8:17 - Ship S.S. Caribou 9:02 - Queen Alexandra as Princess Of Wales 10:02 - Salmon King Of The Rivers I love to hear from you, please tell me your favorite stamp from the lot and let me know if there are any topics you would like me to cover in the future.
