Filmed February 2023 #eilat #Israel #trekking Join me as I head out for 48 hours in a mountainous area of the Southern Negev Desert. This area is considered the least hospitable desert in Israel, with 360 days of sunshine and 4mm of rain per year. It is home to hyenas, jackals, wolves, gazelles, ibex and all manner of bird life. It is noted for the beauty of it's yellow, red and purple sandstone mountains and Canyons, and views from the peaks across to nearby Jordan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. I planned this trip for the winter months hoping for weather that wouldn't be too extreme - a hope that didn't come to fruition as the temperature gauge topped 38°C.
