GSXR 600 K7 Akrapovic Inst and EXCV removal

This video is just for educational fun. Take precaution when working on your own motorcycle. This does not take the place of or supersede the service manual and factory specifications of the motorcycle. Also, if your riding on the street, make sure the modifications are legal where you live. This is the install of a Akrapovic shorty slip-on on a GSXR 600 K7: http://www.akrapovic.com/motorcycle-e... I also remove the Exhaust Control Valve Actuator (EXCVA). This is sometimes refereed to as the SET valve. This valve is primarily used to reduce noise while the motorcycle is idling and help control emissions. It also serves to increase torque at very low RPMs. This increase in torque is minimal at best and only seen from 0 to 4800 RPMs. This RPM range is rarely touched when actually riding the motorcycle. In addition, at this low RPM, the throttle response is slightly hindered due to the valve and can create lag time. The hindered throttle response and lag is not worth the insignificant torque gain when you are, perhaps, leaving a stop sign. Ultimately, its dead weight and will only serve to cause problems. Music - I do not claim the rights to any of these songs nor am I using them to make any kind of profit. They are being used for educational purposes. These songs were placed here in support of the artist, so if you like it, buy it, like I did. Here they are in the order they appear: Samurai Champloo Soundtrack - Tsurugi No Mai Nujabes (RIP) - Kunomi Daft Punk - End of Line Amon Amarth - Hermod's Ride to Hel (Lokes Treachery Part 1) Rhapsody of Fire - Raging Starfire Thanks for watching and reading! I hope this is of some help.
