We have very little in the way of medications or therapies and most of our treatment is focused around social care. So when the FDA (Food & Drug Administration) recently approved the new drug, aducanumab (Aduhelm) made by Biogen pharmaceuticals, there was a mixture of excitement and bewilderment. The FDA says it works. The trials say otherwise. Plus, is super expensive! On this video, I want to talk to you about Alzheimer's disease, how its managed, what this new drug is and the evidence behind it. In my view, the evidence is not enough to approve such an expensive drug when the money could be better used elsewhere. This then begs the question of why they approved it in the first place?
