Tonight on Cast Iron Wednesday we’ll be taking a look at modern day cast iron pans, and pitting two of the modern “luxury” cast iron makers against each other: Stargazer versus Field. Now, it seems that every time we see one of those “cast iron versus cast iron” videos, the end result turns out to be the same: “they both cook fantastic!” Even though this battle won’t take place until tonight, we can be certain this will be the outcome. Nonetheless, there are some slight differences between the modern-day cast iron makers, and so we’ll be taking a close look at these two fine modern day cast iron pans. We’ll be giving them the famous “egg test”, cooking bacon, and finally making good old cornbread in these pans.
