Abstract: Poor reporting of clinical trials threatens the reliability and credibility of medical research and affects patient care. Adherence to reporting guidelines can improve reporting standards, but few tools are available to help researchers, editors, or other stakeholders quickly determine compliance with reporting guidelines. Artificial Intelligence Large Language Models (AI) might be able to identify whether the content of an article meets reporting guidelines. In this talk, I will present the results from a series of exploratory studies where we attempted to determine how accurately AI can measure reporting guideline compliance in clinical trial reports. Bio: James Wrightson, PhD is a researcher at the Department of Family Practice at the University of British Columbia. He uses machine learning to explore aspects of peer review, clinical trial reporting, and the use of the health care systems in British Columbia.
