In this video, we install a rotor coolant delete manifold on the Large Drive Unit (LDU) in this 2014 Tesla Model S. Almost all LDUs are prone to a failure of the rotor coolant seal, which ends up leaking into the motor with the potential to cause catastrophic damage to the drive unit. The LDU is equipped in pretty much all RWD and/or Performance versions of the Model S and X from 2012 to early 2021 (dual motor, non-performance models are unaffected).
