Surrounded by cedar forests on the edge of the Himalayas, this hillside city is home to the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan government-in-exile. The Thekchen Chöling Temple Complex is a spiritual center for Tibetan Buddhism, while the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives houses thousands of precious manuscripts 1. Kangra Fort : The Kangra Fort is located 20 kilometers from the town of Dharamsala on the outskirts of the town of Kangra. The Kangra Fort was built by the royal Rajput family of Kangra State (the Katoch dynasty), which traces its origins to the ancient Trigarta Kingdom, mentioned in the Mahabharata epic. It is the largest fort in the Himalayas and probably the oldest dated fort in India. 2. Masroor Rock Cut Temple : The Masrur Temples, also referred to as Masroor Temples or Rock-cut Temples at Masrur, is an early 8th-century complex of rock-cut Hindu temples in the Kangra Valley of Beas River in Himachal Pradesh, India. The temples face northeast, towards the Dhauladhar range of the Himalayas. 3. HPCA Stadium : Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, abbreviated as the HPCA Stadium, is a picturesque cricket stadium located in the city of Dharamshala District Kangra in Himachal Pradesh, India. The town of Dharamsala is best known internationally as the home of the Dalai Lama of Tibet. 4. War Memorial : War Memorialis located at the entry point of the Dharamshala town and it was built to commemorate the memory of those who fought valiantly for the honor of their motherland. This place is ideally located in the pine forest of Dharamshala and offers a very pleasant walk through the woods. 5. McLeod Ganj : McLeod Ganj is a suburb of Dharamshala in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is known as "Little Lhasa" or "Dhasa" because of its large population of Tibetans. The Tibetan government-in-exile is headquartered in McLeod Ganj. 6. Dalai Lama Temple : Dalai Lama Temple or Namgyal Monastery  is currently located in Mcleod Ganj, Dharamsala, India. It is the personal monastery of the 14th Dalai Lama. Another name for this temple-complex is Namgyal Tantric College. This monastery's key role is to assist with rituals involving the Dalai Lama of Tibet. Its main tantric practices reportedly include those of Kalachakra, Yamantaka, Chakrasamvara, Guhyasamaja, and Vajrakilaya. 7. Dal Lake : Dal Lake is a small mid-altitude lake near the village of Tota Rani in Kangra. The name 'Dal Lake' is taken from Kashmir's Dal Lake. The lake is surrounded by deodar trees and is considered to be a sacred spot as there is small Shiva mandir on its bank. 8.  BhagsuNag Waterfall : The majestic Bhagsu Waterfalls, situated near the Bhagsu village, is one of the main attractions near Mcleodganj in the quaint state of Himachal Pradesh. Bhagsunag is a village situated about 7000 feet above the sea level, which makes it a perfect location to enjoy the beauty of a high-altitude spot. 9. Kangra Valley : Kangra Valley is situated in the Western Himalayas. Administratively, it predominantly lies in the state of Himachal Pradesh in India. It is a popular tourist destination, with the peak season around March and April. The Kangri dialect is spoken there. 10. Triund Hills : Triund is a small hill station in the Kangra district in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India. Triund is a part of Dharamkot.
