The Jamia Masjid in Srinagar is over 600 years old. Built during the Sultanate period, it is central to the faith of Kashmiri Muslims. Like Al Aqsa Mosque, Jamia also witnesses crackdowns, sieges and lockdowns. Just like the Palestinians, Kashmiris too go out of their way to revere it and protect it.
