A Masterclass On The Rules Of Journalism And Freedom Of Speech | Faye D’Souza

Twitter blocked access to dozens of accounts in India on Monday, including some that belonged to high-profile individuals, to comply with a “legal demand,” prompting confusion and anger among users who are seeking an explanation for this action. Among those whose accounts have been withheld in India include Caravan (a news outlet that conducts investigative journalism), political commentator Sanjukta Basu, activist Hansraj Meena, actor Sushant Singh, and Shashi Shekhar Vempati, chief executive of state-run broadcasting agency Prasar Bharti. Accounts of at least two politicians with Aam Aadmi Party — Preeti Sharma Menon and Jarnail Singh have also been withheld. At least two popular accounts linked with ongoing protests by farmers — Kisan Ekta Morcha and Tractor2Twitr — in India have also been restricted. However, these accounts have now been restored and there has been no official statement from Twitter for the same. We are discussing the issue with the following guests: 1) Neerja Chowdhury, Senior Journalist 2) Javed Ansari, Senior Journalist Check out more interviews by Faye D’Souza: https://bit.ly/3fDyUeF More Videos by Faye D’Souza: Live with Faye at 8:00PM: https://bit.ly/37ji1Ci Explainers: https://bit.ly/33oyMKS 6:30PM Live Stream: Amitha Balachandra: https://bit.ly/2V9b9Sc Best of Faye D’Souza: https://bit.ly/36c9W2Y ► Follow us on Instagram: https://bit.ly/3eUXB5y ► Like us on Facebook: https://bit.ly/2VHVZEk ► Follow us on Twitter: https://bit.ly/3aDIWZ7 #Twitter #TwitterIndia #FarmersProtest #TwitterAccountBan #FarmerProtestIndia
