Dermot Byrne is touring presently (Ocotber 2015) in Ireland to Celebrate and mark the twentieth anniversary of his solo album ‘Dermot Byrne’ released in 1995. He was awarded the Irish Television station, TG4’s Traditional Musician of the Year 2013. He is from Buncrana in the Inishowen peninsula, Co.Donegal, and has played accordion since a very young age and learnt from his father Tomás O’Beirn, who comes from Teileann area of South West Donegal, and is an enthusiastic promoter of the Tradition. Dermot at young age met all the greats of Donegal music, including Johnny Doherty, Con Cassidy and Tommy Peoples, Danny Meehan and many more.They made a great impact on the young Dermot, who went on to develop a unique style. His seemingly effortless playing, combined with great subtlety, and a faultless ear, makes him one of the great accordion players of his generation. As well as his mastery of the Donegal style and repertoire, Dermot can turn with ease to other styles and traditions such as French musette, or South American choro music. He guested on two Altan recordings “The Red Crow” and “Island Angel” and was a member of the band from 1994 until 2013. Dermot has guested on collaborations with many great musicians including Seamus and Manus McGuire, Sharon Shannon, Frankie Gavin, Pierre Schryer, Tim O’Brien , The Stunning, Salsa Celtica and the late jazz violinist, Stephane Grappelli. = Steve Cooney was born in Melbourne, Australian and is a guitarist, bassist, producer and didgeridoo player Steve Cooney is one of the most dynamic modern performers in traditional music. He's also a fine composer, and a songwriter, his songs have been recorded by artists including Altan and Mary Black. An Australian of Irish ancestry, Steve Cooney has lived in Ireland for many years. From the age of seventeen he has been playing in rock bands including Bushwackers, Fruitcake and the successful folk/rock band Red Gum. He came to Ireland in 1981, joined Stockton's Wing, playing bass guitar and didgeridoo. He has performed and recorded with Dermot Byrne, Sharon Shannon, Altan, Martin Hayes, Mary Black, Sliabh Notes, Séamus Begley and many others.Steve has had a long association with Canon Goodman’s music and is one of Ireland’s leading authorities on the subject. In 1993 he performed (with Odhrán Ó Casaide) a concert of Goodman pieces to mark the opening of the Great Blasket centre in Dunquin, the first time those tunes were heard publicly in Goodman’s native West Kerry in over 100 years. In 2000 he recorded a selection of them for ‘Scéilín Ó Bhéilín’, an educational Irish language CD for schoolchildren. = Trevor Hutchinson is from Cookstown, County Tyrone; Trevor played bass with the Waterboys from 1986 to 1991, recording Fisherman’s Blues (1988) and Room to Roam (1990), the latter featuring Sharon Shannon. Trevor made three albums with the Sharon Shannon Band: 1991’s ‘Sharon Shannon’, 1994’s ‘Out the Gap’, and 1997’s ‘Each Little Thing’. He is a much-in-demand musician; Trevor has also recorded with Moving Cloud, Altan’s Dermot Byrne, Eric Bibb, Máire Breatnach, and Eileen Ivers.
