Newcomer Shaun Bhatti (aka rapper Zesh) plays Mikey at a pivotal moment in his life, as his partner dies and he loses custody of his young daughter, fighting his way back and relying on hip-hop MCing for emotional release. The question of redemption is at the heart of the drama, and viewers will be taken through an intoxicating journey as Mikey faces up to reality. Mikey and other characters come up against ruthless drug dealer Buddha, played by Garry Fraser - who also co-wrote the film alongside producer and cinematographer Garry Torrance. Garry Fraser took the role of 2nd Unit Director on T2 Trainspotting after directing the Bafta Award-winning documentary Everybody's Child, but this will be his first major screen acting role.
