TSDZ2 Installation on a recumbent trike.

After a few requests I've finally got around to making a video of the installation of the Tong Sheng TSDZ2 electric assist motor. The motor kit that I bought was recommended to me by a knowledgeable guy I found on the internet who had fitted a few of these, including at least two onto recumbent trikes. Here is a link to his YouTube channel...    / @ebikechoices   and specifically his trike install...    • Recumbent Trike Electric Conversion T...   Here is a link to his (very informative) website... https://ebikechoices.com/ The kit that he recommended to me was from a company on Ali Express who deliver from stock they have in The Netherlands. I ordered from them and received the kit in the UK just five days later. Heres a link to the kit on Ali Express... https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32769... In addition to their kit you will also need to order a speed sensor extension cable ... https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32833... The other additional item required is a 'P' clip needed to act as a torque clamp around the boom. I used a 53mm clip from Amazon about £4. Then you need a 36v battery of your choice. I went for these from Ali Express (again as recommended by the same man)... https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32819... The battery lead connectors are different from the TSDZ2 conectors so I cut them off and spliced the cables together with a 2core connector I already had... very quick and easy. The batteries were shipped from China but arrived in the UK less than 2 weeks after ordering so wasn't too long to wait. The above website has a full instruction booklet online and so you shouldn't get stuck. Its a simple install anyway. This is the 250w version and has not yet had the firmware upgrade which I might do at some point in the future (link will appear here if/when I do). I am aware of the problem with the blue nylon cog inside the TSDZ2 and have already opened the motor and installed a replacement brass cog. A great video of the cog change can be seen here -    • TSDZ2 Blue Gear Replacement and Service   With the brass gear the motor has since made a tiny bit more noise which is annoying for video making purposes but is otherwise unnoticeable. ____________________________________________ I ride an adapted HP Velotechnik Scorpion FS26 trike. My panniers and sidebags are made by Ortlieb. I film using a Canon G7X MkII, and a DJI Spark Drone. I also occasionally use my Galaxy S9 phone to record some footage but prefer not to if I can help it. #TSDZ2 #recumbentTrike #TimsTrikeTrips
