One of those was the Skyline Drive inside Shenandoah National Park. In response, we received so many comments about the Blue Ridge Parkway—and wow, they were right! We had no idea that this parkway was one of America's favorite drives, just like Route 66. The Blue Ridge Parkway connects Shenandoah National Park to Great Smoky Mountain National Park, with plenty of historical and unique stops along the way. Having just learned about this drive, we only got a taste of the gems along the way, but we're happy to shine some light on this part of the country for other RVers who may not know about it yet, either. In this episode, we spend all of our time near the south entrance of Shenandoah. Mostly, we just didn't know how big this National Park was. The Old Rag hike was 1.5 hours away! These are some of the obstacles we face when changing plans last minute. If you recall, our original plan was to go to back to Helen, GA. But snow sent us to Kitty Hawk instead, and a new route unfolded. As often happens, we found ourselves going with the flow—which often makes a trip even better. We hiked Crab Tree Falls and the newly restored Blue Ridge Tunnel before walking the streets of Charlottesville, soaking in all the American history.
