Paint-Carpet Kerfed Ported Box for CT Sounds Tropo XL 12D2 Subwoofer

Hello, how you doin', YouTube! Here's a real quick video about that all MDF construction double-baffle kerfed slot ported box for the 1000w RMS CT Sounds Tropo XL 12" dual 2Ω car subwoofer. Product marketing says the subwoofer can handle up to 2000w of musical power peak. So let's find out by bumping the subwoofer up. But first let's build an enclosure for it, without any further ado, let's build: 00:05 - CT Sounds Tropo XL 12 inch subwoofer unboxing. 00:35 - Extract Thiele-small parameters using Dayton Audio DATS v3 and use all that data to calculate a subwoofer enclosure on Bass Box Pro 6 computer software on Windows PC. 00:45 - Plot the box using 3D CAD program on TinkerCad. Here's the link if you want to copy the entire box design and dimensions: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/30PK... 01:00 - How to cut kerfs on MDF. 01:20 - Bending and gluing the kerfs on MDF. Use a generous amount of wood glue. 01:45 - Rough cut front baffle using a jigsaw. Smoothen the cut by using a router later on. 03:10 - I let the professional painters do all the painting job because painting is not my favorite part. 04:20 - Always use T-nuts and Allen head machine bolts in securing subwoofers into enclosure. 05:00 - Let me know what you think about the carpeting job. 05:15 - Always use heat-shrink tubing to all electrical jobs. 05:25 - Stainless steel bolts and nuts are used for the terminals. A thousand watt system should be like this. Plastic speaker terminal cups won't do justice. 06:10 - Final product showcase. I ended building 2 boxes for 2 different customers. 06:45 - Measure and verify actual system tuning, impedance and phase by using Dayton Audio DATS v3. Turns out actual box and subwoofer tuning is 34.65Hz at 1.52 Ohms impedance and at 1.137 degree phase. 07:15 - Box 1 is shipped to a customer and the other one is installed on a customer's 2017 Toyota Innova APV. There is a quick subwoofer bass test as well. Let me know what you think. That's it, thank you for watching!
