The planet Kadaku, once home to Archmagos Nozick and a crucial research hub for Project Aurora, now faces total annihilation as the Tyranid invasion reaches catastrophic levels. Towering capillary structures, designed to consume the planet's biomass, dominate the landscape, threatening to strip Kadaku bare. In a last-ditch effort to halt the Tyranid advance, an Ultramarines squad from Captain Acheran’s 2nd Company has been tasked with reactivating the defenses of an abandoned Imperial fortress to deliver a powerful strike against these towers. However, a colossal Tyranid Hierophant, a monstrous bio-titan spewing bile and death, guards the capillary towers, making any assault nearly impossible. Before the defenses can be brought to bear against the capillary towers, this towering beast must be neutralized. In this high-stakes operation, the Ultramarines will join forces with Cadian troops, launching a coordinated counterattack to push back the Tyranid swarm. Success hinges on eliminating the Hierophant and using the fortress’s remaining arsenal to obliterate the capillary towers. The survival of Kadaku—and the future of the Imperium's war effort—rests in their hands. Assault The Assault Space Marine is the squad's close-quarters specialist, designed for brutal, up-close engagements. Armed with a power sword and a jump pack, they excel at quickly closing the distance to deliver devastating melee strikes. Their jump pack allows them to leap into the thick of battle, disorienting enemies and creating chaos among their ranks, making them an essential force for breaking enemy lines or targeting key threats. In addition to their raw melee prowess, Assault Marines can use their high mobility to flank enemies, bypass defensive positions, or escape dangerous situations. While their armor is slightly lighter than that of Tactical Marines, their agility and devastating melee strikes compensate for this, allowing them to dominate in melee combat. As a fast-moving, highly aggressive class, the Assault Marine embodies the relentless spirit of the Ultramarines in the thick of the fight. Campaign tie-in This Co-Op mission does not have a direct narrative connection to the main campaign of Space Marine 2, but instead focuses on the escalating Tyranid invasion on the planet Kadaku.
