After learning that his children were killed by King Vishwamitra, Vashisht tried to drown himself in the river, but the river refused to kill him. He was then given a new life and moved to the village of Vashisht. Temple The Vashisht Temple is believed to be over 4,000 years old and was rebuilt in 1992. The temple is dedicated to the sage Vashisht and is adorned with wood carvings. It also features a black stone image of the sage. Hot springs The temple is associated with the Vashisht Kund hot spring. Location The temple is located in the village of Vashisht, which is about 6 kilometers from Manali. The village is known for its traditional houses, cafes, and shops selling woolen clothes. Visit The temple is open every day, but sacred bath times in the early morning may limit the number of visitors. The area is often closed during late fall and winter.
